Summer LAN 2019

LIB1 and LIB2, Central Campus, noon Monday 24th June 2019 - 8 p.m. Friday 28th June 2019

Event information

Celebrate the end of the academic year with an entire week of gaming! Sign up for a space to bring the gaming system of your choice to the event or drop in and play on our gaming laptops! The exec will be present in both rooms to look after your stuff, so feel free to come and go whenever.

Also available will be a number of community games such as Jackbox. Our usual gaming consoles such as the Switch, XBox One and Playstation 4 will also make an appearance.

If you're looking for some competition, we'll have tournaments running too! Take a look at our touraments page for more details.

To attend for the week you must reserve a seat at the LAN through If you're a member of the Computing Society it is free to do this, otherwise you must pay £5. Your desk space will have enough room for a standard keyboard and medium sized mouse mat and space for up to and including a single 30" external screen.

What to bring

If you're attending the LAN you'll need to bring the following:

  • Your PC/Games console
  • A screen
  • Keyboard & mouse/controller
  • Headset

Note: Unlike previous events, we'll be supplying Ethernet cables, right from our routers direct to the PCs/consoles you bring. So you don't have to worry about that!

  • No sleeping - it's not comfortable and a safety hazard.
  • No alcohol - alcohol and computers never mix.
  • No speakers - It's a room full of people playing games, bring headphones.

Please note that although there'll be CompSoc exec members in the room at all time throughout the LAN to supervise, anything you bring is still at your own risk.

Here you can find out about the tournaments that will be happening at Summer LAN 2019.
